Adam Chaffey
Founder Of The Mid North Coast Business Showcase
Built from more than 25 years in the region, strong local business connections and a belief that better digital visibility can strengthen local businesses and communities.
Introduction
I’ve lived in the Port Macquarie region for more than 25 years and have spent most of my life on the Mid North Coast. It is the kind of place where relationships matter, local knowledge carries weight and the businesses doing solid work often grow through trust long before a search result or social post comes into the picture.
The Mid North Coast Business Showcase is my way of helping that local strength become easier to find. It is being built for people who live here, people planning a visit and people looking for the businesses, places and community activity that make the region what it is.
Why I Built The Showcase
I kept seeing the same gap: good regional businesses can be difficult to discover online unless you already know exactly what to search for. National directories tend to flatten local context, while useful local information is scattered between individual websites, social pages and word of mouth.
I wanted to create something more practical than another list of names. The Showcase is designed to make it easier to discover trusted local businesses alongside useful regional places, events and stories — with enough context to help people decide where to go next.
The Role Of Slipstream Digital
Slipstream Digital provides the strategy, website, SEO, content, analytics and digital foundations behind the Showcase. It gives the platform the structure needed to grow steadily and remain useful.
But the Showcase has its own purpose: a regional discovery platform built around the Mid North Coast, not simply a marketing channel for Slipstream.

Connected To Local Business
My work with businesses across the Hastings and wider Mid North Coast has given me a close view of the people behind local enterprise: the trades, professional services, hospitality venues, community groups and operators who keep the region moving.
I’m also involved with BNI Hastings and the broader Port Macquarie business community. Those connections have reinforced a simple point: when good local businesses are easier to find and understand, the whole region benefits.
Live Music, Events And Community
Live music, creative projects, regional events and community activity are another important part of my connection to the area. Through musicians, venues, festivals, recording and local events, I see the relationships and effort that sit behind memorable regional experiences.
That perspective belongs in the Showcase too. A useful local platform should make room for the people and places that add culture, character and shared experiences to the Mid North Coast.
What I Want The Showcase To Become
Over time, I want the Mid North Coast Business Showcase to become a genuinely useful place to explore the region: connecting businesses, residents, visitors, local places, events, community organisations, regional stories and practical information.
It will keep developing carefully, with usefulness ahead of noise and local context ahead of generic listings. The aim is not to speak for every part of the region. It is to build a platform that helps more people find, understand and support what is already here.
